Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused
College Shop Assistant
to join our team on a permanent part-time basis during academic weeks.
Working closely with the College Shop Manager, you will provide welcoming service to students, families and staff while assisting with point-of-sale transactions, stock control,



merchandising and the day-to-day presentation of the shop.
The successful applicant will bring strong people skills, retail experience, attention to detail and a positive, team-oriented approach.
The role involves regular lifting and carrying of stock, using stairs, and periods of standing and walking.
Previous retail or customer service experience
Friendly, people-focused approach with robust communication skills
Experience using point-of-sale systems and handling transactions
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience with stock control, merchandising and stocktakes
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to safely meet the physical requirements of the role
Commitment to child safety and supporting a welcoming College community
