D’Arcy Weil is recruiting a Senior Associate, Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety on behalf of a leading Australian law firm. The Melbourne-based role sits within the firm’s workplace relations, employment and safety practice, including:

- Advising clients on employment, industrial relations and workplace safety obligations
- Running employment disputes and workplace investigations
- Supporting clients through serious workplace incidents and dealings with regulators
- Preparing advices, policies and compliance material tailored to client operations
- Mentoring junior lawyers and helping grow the practice

It suits a lawyer who is as comfortable on an employment dispute as on a safety incident, and who builds trusted, long-term client relationships.

The Role

- Advisory: Advise clients on employment, industrial relations and workplace safety obligations, and on managing workplace risk
- Disputes: Run employment and workplace relations disputes from first advice through to resolution
- Investigations: Conduct or oversee workplace investigations, and advise clients on process and outcomes
- Safety incidents and regulators: Support clients responding to serious workplace incidents and engaging with regulators
- Drafting: Prepare advices, policies and compliance material tailored to each client’s operations
- Team and practice: Mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to business development and the growth of the practice





About You

- 3–5 years PQE in employment, industrial relations or workplace safety law
- - A record of running matters with minimal supervision
- Sharp drafting and advocacy skills
- Commercial judgement and strong client communication
- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers
