Do you take pride in building aluminium doors that close, latch and lock perfectly? Then this role is for you.
An established Melbourne façade and window manufacturer in Bayswater is looking for two experienced door makers to build commercial aluminium doors for major projects.

What's in it for you

- $55.00 per hour, plus overtime
- Full time hours, with regular overtime available
- Temp to perm role
- Work on major commercial projects

Your week
Standard days run 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Optional overtime is regular, with longer 6:00am-4:30pm days, Saturdays and the occasional Sunday.

What you'll be building
Single and double hinged commercial aluminium doors, plus other configurations, from pre-machined frames and panels. Working from shop drawings, you will:

- Prepare each door for hardware fit-off
- Fit the right hardware: hinges, closers, handles, lock bodies, strikers, door stops, seals and gaskets

- Set locks to suit how each door is used (e.g. escape-only versus secured access)
- Set gaps and alignment so every door closes, latches and locks properly
- Check quality throughout the build, so the finished door is flush and square

A single door (one frame, one leaf) is budgeted at around 4-6 hours, to a high finish standard.

About you

- Experience making aluminium doors, ideally commercial (strongly preferred)
- Solid door hardware knowledge: what each part does, which door needs what, and how it is fitted
- Able to read shop drawings and work to production timeframes
- Hard working, reliable and available for overtime
- Aluminium window or metal fabrication experience will also be considered

Think you've got the skills and hardware knowledge for this role? Apply today.
