Every athlete wearing the green and gold started somewhere. Softball Australia is looking for a National Talent Operations Coordinator to make sure our national age-group programs run smoothly, so athletes and coaches can focus on getting better.
You'll look after the operational side of our pathway programs, including training camps, national championships, domestic tournaments, international tours and preparation programs. You'll coordinate travel and logistics, support budgets and administration, and keep athletes, coaches, families, state associations and service providers informed every step of the way.
It's a chance to play a real part in developing athletes and coaches on their way to senior Australian representation, with the road to the LA 2028 Olympics underway.
What you'll do

- Be the first point of contact for athletes, coaches,
performance support staff and SA stakeholders on talent pathway operations and logistics
- Liaise with WBSC, tournament LOCs, the AIS and other event stakeholders to secure bookings and meet tournament compliance requirements
- Communicate itineraries, travel details and logistics plans to athletes, staff, team managers and volunteers
- Manage freight and equipment movements, including customs and international transport
- Help collect and maintain athlete documentation such as passports, visas, medical, dietary and consent forms
- Review and document team logistics processes, and keep them current with an annual review
Uniforms and equipment
- Oversee uniform ordering, sizing, distribution and inventory tracking, in line with SA's Style Guide and partner agreements
- Coordinate equipment with suppliers, keep records of issued items and manage replacements and returns
- Keep stock at the right levels, complete quarterly stock takes and the annual end-of-financial-year stock take, including value-in-kind (VIK)
Planning and support
- Maintain program calendars and daily schedules for camps and tours
- Support the National Talent Pathway Manager to deliver international and domestic camps, tours, talent ID events and pathway projects
- Run post-event feedback surveys after each camp, tour or tournament
- Reconcile financial and corporate card accounts monthly with SA's Finance team
- Provide general administrative support to the National Talent Pathway Manager
What you bring
- Tertiary qualifications in sports administration or equivalent (desirable),
or more than 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Exceptional organisation and task management skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with people at all levels, from athletes and families to international federations
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence following set processes, and the initiative to identify and drive improvements
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and an eye for using technology to work smarter
- A high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Commitment to SA's values: Unified, Respect, Creative & Brave, and Fun
Bonus points for: experience organising softball or other sporting events.
