About the role

The maintenance role is primarily focused on the cleanliness, landscaping, general maintenance and servicing of restaurant equipment. This role is suited to an individual who is highly organised, is able to work autonomously and has a high attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain the internal and external restaurant environment to provide a clean, functioning and welcoming workplace for customers and the restaurant team
- Fix leaking taps, minor plumbing issues, door handles, locks, hinges, cupboards, shelving, furniture, wall damage, tiles and general wear and tear
- Complete basic troubleshooting, tighten fittings, replace simple accessories, identify faults and arrange specialist equipment repairs where required
- Maintain dining areas, toilets, staff amenities, car parks, drive-through areas, outdoor furniture, bins and signage, lawns, gardens and hedges as required
- Organise and clean the back area of the restaurant including the rubbish area and staff toilets
- Conduct regular inspections, identify hazards, complete minor repairs, record outstanding jobs and follow up on maintenance issues
- Maintain equipment to ensure it is well functioning and the restaurant setting is safe and secure from potential hazards
- Ensure repairs are completed safely and hygienically, and escalate electrical, gas, regulated plumbing, refrigeration and other specialist work to appropriately licensed contractors

- Able to independently complete tasks including but not limited to mopping, scrubbing, climbing ladders, cleaning windows and toilets
- Confident in engaging with customers, suppliers or contractors, including handling difficult situations with individuals
- Able to use lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, gardening tools
- Capable of hearing and responding to various alerts and alarms

Qualifications

- Previous experience in general maintenance and cleaning required
- Basic skills in minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, repairs and equipment troubleshooting desirable
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
- Valuable problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report maintenance issues
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and complete tasks within agreed timeframes
- Police check required if successful (applicants over 18 years only)
- Valid right to work in Australia is required
