Due to continued growth, we are seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our Cannonvale maintenance team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of a fast-paced industrial processing plant. You will play a critical role in minimising downtime, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring equipment operates safely and effectively.

Shift hours: 10am-6pm

Key responsibilities include:

- Performing preventative and reactive maintenance across industrial plant equipment

- Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of automated mechanical systems

- Lathe work, welding and light fabrication

- Maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems

- Responding to mechanical breakdowns and supporting production recovery

- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in plant reliability

- Promoting and upholding safe work practices across the site

Working Hours & Availability

Standard Hours: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.





Flexibility to attend occasional after-hours callouts and availability for weekend work when required are essential requirements of the role.

Overtime & Penalty Rates:

- Monday – Friday: Time and a half (150%) for hours worked beyond 7.6 hours per day.

- Saturday: Time and a half (150%) for the first 3 hours, then double time (200%) thereafter.

- Sunday: Double time (200%) for all hours worked.

- Public Holidays: Double time and a half (250%) for all hours worked.

Pay range: $48 – $53 per hour + overtime + super (Negotiable dependant on skillset)

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical capability along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Essential:

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter

- Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment

- Strong mechanical fault-finding capability

- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

- Commitment to workplace safety

Highly regarded:

- Experience working with automated processing equipment

- Welding and fabrication capability

- Maintenance planning exposure

You will be someone who works well both autonomously and within a team, remains calm under pressure in a production environment, demonstrates reliability and strong work ethic, takes pride in your workmanship, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Details

This is a permanent full-time role working primarily Monday to Friday , with weekends and after-hours work as required during peak holiday periods. Overtime is available during peak periods and project work, and remuneration will reflect your skills and experience.
