About the role

M & J Chickens is seeking Product Samplers to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in Laverton North, VIC 3026 and offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of our product development and marketing initiatives. As a Product Sampler, you will play a vital role in gathering consumer insights and feedback on our Cooked Ready to Eat Chicken products, directly contributing to our product innovation strategy and market positioning. Your work will help us better understand customer preferences in the competitive poultry market.

Key responsibilities

Conduct product sampling activities at designated locations, engaging with consumers and collecting feedback on chicken products

- Represent M & J Chickens professionally, communicating product features and benefits to potential customers

- Maintain notes on tasting preferences, texture, flavour and overall product quality assessments

- Prepare sampling materials and ensure product quality and food safety standards are maintained throughout all activities

- Monitor and report on sampling session outcomes and consumer engagement metrics

What we're looking for

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse consumers

- A genuine interest in food products and consumer behavior in the poultry industry





- Ability to explain basic product features and encourage customers to try them

- Reliability and flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and public holidays as required for sampling events

- Ability to work independently whilst supporting a team-oriented environment

- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle product sampling materials

- Maintain a clean, hygienic and professional sampling station,

- Previous experience in product sampling, market research or consumer engagement is advantageous but not essential

- Food safety training / handling knowledge essential
