The Optical Superstore /Northern Coast Optical Pty Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Optical Dispenser / Sales Person to join our team in Port Macquarie, NSW. This is a full-time position that combines the technical expertise of optical dispensing with strong sales and customer service skills. In this role, you will be at the heart of our business, helping customers find the perfect eyewear solution while ensuring accuracy and quality in all optical dispensing tasks. This position is integral to delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving business growth within our optical practice.

At the Optical Superstore we do not set any KPI's or Sales targets, this leaves you free to dispense what is actually needed by the customer without any added pressure.

Key responsibilities

Dispensing and fitting eyeglasses in accordance with prescriptions and customer requirements

Measuring and recording accurate patient measurements using appropriate optical equipment and techniques

Providing expert advice on eyewear options, lens coatings, frame styles and contact lens solutions to customers

Processing sales transactions accurately and managing payment methods

Maintaining detailed customer records and ensuring compliance with optical and health regulations

Educating customers on proper care, maintenance and usage of eyewear and contact lenses

Building strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals

Assisting with front desk duties including appointment scheduling and customer queries

Maintaining a clean, organised and qualified dispensary and retail environment





Collaborating with optometrists to ensure customer satisfaction and clinical accuracy

What we’re looking for

Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping customers

Sales experience and ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions

Attention to detail and accuracy when processing prescriptions and measurements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

Professional appearance and demeanour

Preferred experience in a retail or optical environment
