VitalCore Support Services – Toowoomba QLD

Dementia Care Queensland is looking for casual Disability Support Workers in Toowoomba to support a person living with dementia in their home.

This is one on one support where consistency matters. You will become a familiar, trusted face, helping them stay safe, comfortable and connected, and supporting them to live as independently as possible.

What you'll be doing

- Personal care delivered with dignity, including showering, dressing, grooming and continence support
- Preparing meals, prompting fluids and supporting medication as set out in the care plan
- Light household tasks such as cleaning and laundry, and keeping the home safe and familiar
- Meaningful activities, conversation and outings in the community
- Calm reassurance and redirection through confusion, anxiety or late afternoon restlessness
- Following behaviour support plans and responding to changed behaviours with patience and respect
- Noticing and reporting changes in health, mood or behaviour
- Keeping family and the care team in the loop and writing explicit shift notes

What we’re looking for

- Experience supporting people living with dementia, in aged care,



disability or home care
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability), or equivalent experience
- Patience, warmth and a gentle, unhurried approach
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (must be cleared before your first shift)
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Full driver's licence and a reliable, insured vehicle

What we offer

- $41 to $45 per hour, paid weekly
- Day shifts and sleepover shifts available
- Casual employment under the SCHADS Award. This is an employed role, not ABN or contractor
- Full induction and dementia specific training before your first shift
- Refresher training every two months and monthly group supervision with a clinical psychologist
- Regular shifts with the same person, so you can build a genuine relationship
