- Combine civil design and project coordination with regular site work.
- Work across teams to resolve challenges and keep delivery moving.
About the opportunity
We are seeking a systematic and proactive Project Coordinator to support the rollout of Micromobility Parking Bays (MPBays)—designated parking spaces for shared bikes.
This role combines program coordination, technical site assessment and stakeholder engagement. You will help manage the delivery pipeline, assess site constraints and coordinate activities across City teams to bring parking bays into operation.
The position involves significant time on site and will suit someone who enjoys practical problem solving, brings sound judgement and has the confidence and persistence to work through competing priorities and delivery barriers.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the MPBay rollout program, tracking progress against delivery targets.
- Maintain the delivery pipeline, manage priorities and monitor risks and dependencies.
- Track program expenditure and support budget management.
- Coordinate activities across City teams to progress site assessments and delivery.
- Assess proposed locations,
considering site constraints, road safety, traffic engineering, transport planning and utilities.
- Undertake regular site visits to identify issues and inform practical solutions.
- Maintain accurate program data, records and progress reporting.
- Improve systems and processes to support efficient, consistent delivery.
- Support program correspondence and responses to enquiries as required.
About you
You will bring:
- Approximately 3–8 years’ relevant experience across civil design and project coordination.
- A structured, process-driven approach and robust organisational skills.
- Technical capability to assess site constraints, with an understanding of traffic engineering, road safety, transport planning and utilities.
- Sound judgement and the ability to make practical, well-reasoned recommendations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate stakeholders across multiple teams.
- Confidence, persistence and diplomacy when addressing resistance or resolving delivery challenges.
- A willingness to spend a significant proportion of your time on site.
- Strong attention to detail in data management, record keeping and reporting.
Local government experience will be highly regarded, particularly familiarity with City of Sydney systems and processes.
