Legal Assistant | Insurance & Litigation

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join this thriving Professional Indemnity practice group and play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Partner and Lawyer of the Sydney office are provided with seamless administrative support.

You'll work closely with a highly regarded Partner, Special Counsel and their team, alongside another Legal Assistant who shares the workload. It's an excellent opportunity if you're someone who enjoys the pace of litigation but also values good communication, teamwork and a Partner who genuinely supports their Legal Assistants.

The Opportunity

You'll become an integral part of a busy litigation team working across a broad mix of insurance and liability disputes, including:

- Professional indemnity and general liability matters
- Insurance coverage disputes
- Property damage and contractual disputes
- Complex indemnity and related litigation matters

Your role will involve providing comprehensive Legal Assistant support, helping the team stay organised, manage deadlines and keep matters progressing. You'll be working alongside another experienced Legal Assistant, with the opportunity to collaborate, share responsibilities and support one another during busy periods.

About You

As the successful candidate, you are expected to hold solid experience (no less than 2 years) in a litigation legal support role within a private practice law firm.



You will have strong attention to detail and be seeking to further develop your legal support career. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of tasks, including:

- Court document preparation and amendments;
- Electronic file management and client liaison;
- Monthly billing and expense reconciliation;
- Online filing of Court documentation;
- Managing up-and-coming deadlines, ensuring your operators are prepared ahead of time;
- Diary management and meeting coordination;
- Adhoc responsibilities as required.

The Professional Indemnity practice group forms part of a large national practice so you will be involved in liaising and working with Insurance Panel clients, therefore any background in a similar position will be welcomed.
