As the Duty Manager at the Union Jack Hotel in Cairns, Queensland, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of this bustling hospitality establishment. Working in a full-time capacity, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the hotel, with a focus on providing an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the day-to-day management of venue operations.

- Lead, motivate, and develop hospitality, gaming, and customer service teams.

- Deliver outstanding guest experiences and resolve customer concerns professionally.

- Ensure smooth operation of food and beverage, gaming, entertainment, and event activities.

- Monitor venue presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards.

- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of staff.

- Manage labour costs, rosters, and productivity targets.

- Maintain compliance with RSA, RSG, gaming, liquor licensing, and workplace health and safety requirements.





- Assist with stock control, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.

What we're looking for

- Minimum 1 years of experience in a similar duty manager or hospitality management role

- Robust leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

- Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities

- Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial reporting

- Thorough understanding of hospitality industry regulations, policies, and best practices

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
