As our city enters a major period of population growth,investment, development and transformation, we're establishing a recent Place& Strategic Partnerships team focused on shaping great places,strengthening our local economy, building powerful partnerships and turningopportunities into action. As part of building this new team, we're recruitingto three new roles, bringing together people with different skills,perspectives and ideas who want to make a visible impact on a city.

The Strategic Partnerships & Investment Lead is oneof them.

Your mission is simple: connect Burwood's ambitions with thepeople, organisations and investment that can help bring them to life.

You’ll look across our city, nationally and globally foropportunity , identifying where the right investor, partner, sponsor orcollaborator could help us think bigger, move faster or deliver more.

You’ll open doors, build senior relationships and turnCouncil priorities into compelling propositions that people want to be part of.

And you’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team helpingshape some of Burwood's most exciting projects across placemaking, economicdevelopment, strategic partnerships and investment, public domain planning,landscape architecture, precinct transformation, the night-time economy andmore.

The Strategic Partnerships & Investment Lead will:

- Connect - Build high-value relationships across government, industry, institutions and the private sector that create new opportunities for Burwood.
- Position - Understand Council'spriorities and turn them into compelling propositions that demonstrate the value of partnering with Burwood.




- Invest - Proactively identify and progress investment opportunities, building a strong pipeline of prospective investors and partners aligned with Burwood’s priorities.
- Partner - Develop strategic partnerships, sponsorships and commercial collaborations that bring additional resources, expertise and value to the City.
- Convert - Take opportunities beyond the initial conversation, navigating Council and external organisations to turn relationships and ideas into agreements, investment and tangible outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in economic development, urban planning, business, marketing, place management or a related discipline.
- Proven experienced developing strategic partnerships, investment opportunities, sponsorships or commercial collaborations and taking them from initial opportunity through to tangible outcomes.
- A strong ability to build trusted relationships at a senior level, with confidence engaging across government, industry, institutions, business and the private sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify mutual value, understand what motivates prospective partners and develop compelling propositions around it.
- Experience developing business cases, investment propositions, partnership proposals and supporting documentation, including agreements and MOUs.
- The ability to build and actively manage a pipeline of prospective investors and partners, prioritising opportunities and maintaining momentum from initial engagement through to delivery.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills,



with the confidence to represent Burwood and advocate for Council’s priorities in external discussions.
- The ability to understand different priorities across Council and connect opportunities across teams, bringing together the right internal expertise to develop and deliver successful partnerships.
- Strong analytical capability, including the ability to articulate value, outcomes and return on investment, and use research and data to support sound recommendations.
- Must hold a NSW Class C Drivers Licence and be willing to undertake a National Police Check.
- Please note this position has been identified as a Designated Position under 4.8 of the Burwood Council Code of Conduct.
