About Us

At Pool Tek we are a trusted, locally owned pool care specialist operating for 25 years keeping Carindale and Brisbane's eastern suburbs swimming safely all year round. We pride ourselves on friendly, expert advice and top-tier customer service. As we head into the peak swim season, we are looking for a reliable, permanent Full-Time Pool Shop Assistant to become a core member of our in-store team.

The Role

This isn't just a summer casual gig-it is a permanent career opportunity. As the face of our store, you will handle a energetic mix of customer service and hands-on technical support. Don't worry if you don't know the exact chemistry yet-if you have a great attitude and love helping people, we will train you on the rest!

Your daily responsibilities will include:

- Customer Service: Greeting local residents, answering phone enquiries, and processing point-of-sale (POS) retail transactions.
- Water Analysis: Running computerised water tests and clearly explaining chemical balance results to pool owners.
- Quoting and Invoicing
- Stock Management: Ordering stock, keeping shelves fully loaded, merchandising products, and receiving deliveries.
- Heavy Lifting: Safely loading heavy stock (such as 20kg salt/mineral bags and chlorine drums)



into customer vehicles.
- Shop Presentation: Keeping the retail floor and water-testing station clean, organised, and professional.

What We Are Looking For:

- The Ultimate People Person: You are genuinely friendly, approachable, and enjoy building relationships with regular local customers.
- Physically Fit & Capable: You are comfortable standing for long periods and repeatedly lifting up to 20kg bags/drums safely.
- Detail-Oriented & Good with Numbers: You can follow instructions precisely to calculate chemical dosages based on pool volumes.
- Reliable & Available: Commitment to a permanent full-time roster, which includes working some Saturdays (our busiest day of the week).
- Valid Open Driver's Licence: Required for occasional stock runs or to assist our mobile tech team if needed.
- Bonus Points: Previous retail, hospitality, or hardware store experience is highly regarded.
