Responsibilities

- Support the CFO with budgeting, financial reporting and strategic financial management.
- Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, quarterly reviews and long-term financial plans.
- Oversee investments, loans, general ledger maintenance and grant acquittals.
- Manage Council's asset register, taxation obligations (GST & FBT) and financial reconciliations.
- Lead business improvement initiatives to enhance financial systems and processes.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, payroll reviews and bank reconciliations.
- Supervise and mentor a small finance team.

Essential

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
- Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.




- Experience preparing budgets, financial statements and financial reports.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
- Highly developed analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Previous Local Government finance experience highly regarded.
