Vegies Unlimited has been established for over 30 years, specialising in fruit & vegetables. We supply local and regional produce to the Mackay and surrounding community. We support other local businesses and employ local staff, contributing to a resilient local community. We have a retail outlet serving the general public and a wholesale depot where we pack orders for customers such as restaurants, cafes, hotels, aged care facilities, hospitals and accommodation camps.

You will have the prospect to promote healthy eating and become a critical link in a supply chain that feeds thousands of people.

Skill development is encouraged. You will have the opportunity to be trained in the following areas:

- Administrative and business procedures and management
- Quality control
- Fruit & Vegetable handling and packing

Role description includes but is not limited to:

- Cash handling, including banking and reconciliation
- General office administration

Selection criteria:

- A positive attitude to work
- Ability to multi-task
- Reliable team player with the ability to take directions
- Ability to work unsupervised

Skills required:





- Above average computer skills (excel, word, email)
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to communicate professionally & effectively
- Willingness to assist in different sections of the business when required
- Knowledge of the fruit and vegetable industry or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment

Other skills which would be an advantage include:

- MYOB and payroll experience
- Management of accounts payable and receivable
- Hospitality and/or Retail experience
- Administration experience in an office attached to a warehouse

Hours of work and remuneration

This position is casual with the opportunity to move to full time.

- Early starts are required.
- Your package can include above award wages and/or bonus systems.
