Diploma Trained Early Childhood Educator

Young Minds Academy is seeking a Diploma Trained Early Childhood Educator to join our dedicated childcare team. This is a full-time position based at our centre in Hamlyn Terrace NSW 2259. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, education and development support to children in our care. Your work will directly contribute to creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and thrive during their early years.

Key responsibilities

- Planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities and educational programmes that support children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development
- Providing direct care including feeding, toileting, nappy changing and hygiene practices in accordance with health and safety standards
- Supervising children during play and rest times, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
- Building positive relationships with children and families, fostering communication and supporting parents through regular updates on their child's progress
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment across all areas of the centre, including play spaces, bathrooms and kitchens
- Implementing behaviour guidance strategies that are positive, consistent and developmentally appropriate
- Collaborating with colleagues and the centre leadership team to ensure consistent delivery of care and education
- Documenting children's learning and development through observations and record-keeping
- Complying with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures including child protection and safeguarding requirements
- Contributing to team meetings and continuous professional development activities

What we’re looking for

- A current Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification
- Current or the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance




- Current or the ability to obtain a First Aid and CPR certification
- Demonstrated experience working with children in an early childhood education setting
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families and colleagues
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to a collaborative environment
- High standards of personal conduct and commitment to child safety and protection
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of children and families
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the role including bending, lifting and standing for extended periods
