Position Overview

The Club Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for members, guests and staff throughout the club. The role involves general cleaning duties across all club areas, including gaming, dining, bar, function and amenities areas, as well as assisting with function room set-up and pack-down when required.

The successful applicant will take pride in their work, demonstrate attention to detail and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the club.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Hygiene

- Clean and maintain all designated areas of the club, including floors, carpets, windows, furniture and other surfaces.

- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, toilets and other amenities, ensuring supplies are replenished as required.

- Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with club procedures.

- Maintain cleanliness in gaming, dining, bar, function and staff areas.

- Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning requirements to maintain a safe environment.

- Use cleaning products, equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with workplace procedures.





- Complete scheduled cleaning tasks and maintain a high standard of presentation throughout the club.

- Report maintenance issues, hazards, damage or any other concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Function Set-Up and Pack-Down (when required)

- Assist with setting up function rooms and event spaces in accordance with event requirements.

- Arrange tables, chairs and other furniture as directed.

- Assist with moving and positioning equipment and supplies safely.

- Pack down function areas following events, including returning furniture and equipment to designated storage areas.

- Clean and reset function rooms to ensure they are ready for the next booking or event.

- Work cooperatively with other team members to meet event schedules and deadlines.

Workplace Health and Safety

- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

- Maintain safe work practices when lifting, moving furniture and using cleaning equipment.

- Use appropriate personal protective equipment where required.

- Keep cleaning equipment and storage areas clean, tidy and secure.

- Report hazards, incidents and equipment faults promptly.

Teamwork and Customer Service

- Work collaboratively with club staff and management to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.





- Conduct duties professionally and respectfully around members, guests and visitors.

- Follow reasonable instructions from supervisors and assist with other operational duties as required.

- Maintain confidentiality and comply with club policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience

- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

- Experience in hospitality, clubs or function venues is an advantage.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

- Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks within required timeframes.

- Ability to safely perform physical duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving furniture within safe manual-handling limits.

- Reliable, punctual and versatile to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
