Disability Support Worker - Russell Island

We are looking for kind, dependable and person-centred Disability Support Workers to support NDIS participants living on Russell Island.

We believe great support starts with a genuine relationship. Every participant is different, and we want support workers who are willing to understand the individual - their personality, interests, routines, preferences and goals.

Your role may involve helping someone get out into the community, supporting daily routines, assisting with personal care, preparing meals, attending appointments, enjoying hobbies or simply providing companionship and encouragement.

- Supporting participants with their daily routines
- Personal care and daily living assistance
- Meal preparation and household support
- Community access and social activities
- Supporting appointments and outingsEncouraging independence and confidence
- Supporting individual NDIS goals
- Providing companionship and meaningful connection
- Respecting each participant's choices, routines and preferences
- Completing progress notes and required documentation

We're looking for someone who is:

- Comfortable getting to know participants and building genuine connections
- Respectful of different personalities, abilities and lifestyles
- Able to encourage independence without taking over
- Adaptable and willing to work around individual participant needs

Previous NDIS experience is highly regarded, but attitude and personality are just as important to us.

Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
- Relevant disability/support qualification or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children Check, where applicable
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle preferred
