The location

Newcastle is one of those rare places where a laid back coastal lifestyle meets a genuinely interesting cultural and food scene, making it an easy but rewarding escape from Sydney. You have some of the state’s best beaches, like Merewether Beach, alongside iconic ocean baths, scenic coastal walks, and a working harbour that gives the city real character.

Beyond the shoreline, Newcastle’s café and bar scene has quietly become one of the strongest in regional Australia,

with a growing arts culture, galleries, and live music adding depth. It is also the gateway to the Hunter Valley, so world class wineries are just a short drive away. The result is a destination that feels relaxed without being sleepy, ideal for a weekend that mixes nature, good food, and a bit of discovery.

To be eligible for this position you must:

- Be currently registered with AHPRA with no restrictions
- Minimum 3 years recent midwifery experience
- Dual registered highly regarded but not essential
- All nursing competencies up to date
- Must have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or Current Zealand Citizenship)
