Agency Purpose
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Government to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs.
The AEC’s values and commitments
The AEC values and commitments are an essential component of our operating environment and frame how AEC staff work. The AEC's focus is on electoral integrity through the values of quality, agility and professionalism.

The program was established to enable the AEC to implement and administer legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme, increasing transparency and accountability in Australia’s electoral system.
The FAD Reform Program comprises the FAD Program Management Office Branch, the FAD Policy, Engagement and Design Branch, and the FAD Technology Branch. Together, these branches are strengthening the AEC’s regulatory capability and designing, building and implementing a new ICT system to support the scheme.
The Build and Run Team plays a key role in ensuring ICT solutions are effectively transitioned into business-as-usual operations, supporting reliable service delivery and sustainable support arrangements. The team works closely with project teams, business areas and technical stakeholders to enable successful adoption, ongoing support and continuous improvement of new capabilities.
