Salary: AUD $70,000-$90,000 per annum Our Client Our client, Norwest Group, is a Western Australian company providing civil construction, transport, mining, logistics, and infrastructure services across the Pilbara and regional Western Australia.

The company's operations involve construction activities, vehicle movements, and infrastructure works that require effective traffic management to maintain safe access for workers, motorists, and pedestrians. Norwest Group is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Road Traffic Controller to support its civil construction and road-related operations in Karratha, WA. About the Role

The Road Traffic Controller will manage vehicle and pedestrian movements around construction sites, roadworks, and other operational areas where traffic control is required. Working closely with site supervisors, construction crews, and other traffic management personnel, the successful candidate will help maintain secure traffic flow, minimise disruption, and ensure compliance with approved traffic management plans and workplace safety procedures. Key Responsibilities

Direct vehicles and pedestrians safely around roadworks, construction zones, temporary road closures, and restricted access areas. Set up, position, and remove traffic control signs, cones, barriers, and other approved traffic management devices in accordance with site plans. Use approved traffic control equipment, including stop/slow bats and communication devices, to regulate traffic movements.

Coordinate with site supervisors, construction crews,



and other traffic controllers to maintain safe access and minimise disruptions during civil works. Monitor traffic conditions and identify potential hazards involving heavy vehicles, mobile plant, workers, motorists, and pedestrians. Adjust traffic control activities in accordance with authorised site instructions and changing worksite conditions.

Communicate clearly with road users, site personnel, and other traffic management workers regarding access restrictions and traffic movements. Conduct routine checks of traffic control devices to ensure they remain visible, correctly positioned, and effective. Report incidents, unsafe conditions, traffic congestion, and equipment issues promptly to the relevant supervisor.

Maintain accurate site records and comply with workplace health and safety procedures and applicable traffic management requirements. Essential Requirements Relevant experience in road traffic control, preferably within civil construction, roadworks, infrastructure, or transport operations.

Current Western Australian traffic control accreditation appropriate to the duties performed, including the required traffic controller training and authorisation. Understanding of roadwork safety procedures, traffic management plans, and worksite hazard controls. Ability to communicate clearly with motorists, pedestrians, supervisors, and other traffic management personnel.

Good situational awareness and the ability to remain alert while working around moving vehicles and construction equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and follow site instructions. Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a protected work environment.

Current Australian Driver's Licence or the ability to obtain one. This position is available to candidates currently residing in Australia who hold valid Australian work rights.
