About the role
Boar Group is seeking a proactive, commercially minded Purchasing Officer to take ownership of purchasing across our growing group of businesses.

Supporting our operational staff, you'll coordinate purchasing, strengthen supplier relationships and oversee inventory and warehouse processes across our fire protection, HVAC and electrical entities. You'll work closely with our General and Department Managers and are supported by our warehouse team.

Using Uptick and Simpro, you'll keep purchase orders, stock and material movements accurate and efficient, with real scope to improve cost control, customer experience and profitability across the Group.

Candidates that have worked within the Electrical Supply Chain or Fire Service Industry e.g. Fire Detection as a supply chain representative will be well suited and highly regarded.

Key responsibilities
• Own the purchasing function across all departments
• Source materials, equipment, tools and consumables across fire, HVAC, electrical and building services
• Build and maintain supplier relationships and negotiate competitive pricing, terms and purchasing arrangements
• Manage purchase orders, supplier and product information, and order tracking in Uptick
• Monitor supplier performance, availability, lead times and delivery commitments
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment and manage existing warehouse stock
• Coordinate material deliveries to projects and operational teams
• Oversee stocktakes, inventory audits, reconciliations and stock adjustments, working with the warehouse team
• Consolidate purchasing across Group entities to improve pricing, consistency and value
• Identify ways to reduce costs,



minimise waste and improve stock availability
• Give management purchasing insights and recommendations to support commercial decisions

About you
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or inventory management
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial outcomes
• Commercial awareness and an eye for cost-saving opportunities
• Experience with inventory control, stocktakes and warehouse coordination
• Confident using business management, purchasing and inventory software (Uptick and/or Simpro experience highly regarded)
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• A proactive, autonomous approach with strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Experience in fire protection, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction or industrial supply highly regarded
