About IDC Construct

IDC Construct is a commercial, industrial and residential builder based in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay, working from Burnett Heads to Kingaroy. We hold an open QBCC licence, run an ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified management system, and self-perform our civil and concrete works with our own plant.

We focus on positive systems, clear communication and lasting relationships with clients, consultants and trade partners. Our pipeline is growing in size as well as number, and we're looking for a Senior Project Manager based in Bundaberg who likes owning a job and wants to be part of a leadership team that pulls together.

The role

You'll run your projects day to day, from contract award through to completion. Each job has a Site Manager and a Contracts Administrator reporting to you, so you're leading a small team, not carrying the project alone.

You report to the Construction Manager and work closely with our Commercial and Compliance Managers. You're the client's main point of contact, and you'll carry no more than two projects at a time, typically $5M to $40M.

Key responsibilities

Project delivery

- Manage projects from commencement to completion, safely, on time and to a high standard of quality

- Coordinate site teams, consultants and subcontractors

- Set the Site Manager's priorities and lead the project's Contracts Administrator

- Be the client's main contact through the life of the job

Programme and planning

- Build and manage the construction programme and weekly lookaheads

- Monitor progress, pick up risks and delays early, and work on recovery with the team

- Resolve sequencing and methodology challenges, and deliver the job the way it was planned and priced

Commercial management

- Own the project's cost reporting, with your CA preparing the numbers

- Oversee progress claims, variations and project cash flow





- Capture variations as they arise and keep good delay records

- Manage subcontractor scope, costs and back-charges with your CA

Quality, safety and compliance

- Keep ITPs, test results and safety records current as the work happens

- Lead site safety: inductions, prestarts and stop-work authority

- Drive defects down and hand over a clean job

- Follow our ISO systems and help improve how we deliver

Communication and leadership

- Run project meetings and keep clients, consultants and the executive informed

- Report monthly on cost, programme and quality through the project job report

- Hold the site to the IDC standard: setup, housekeeping, PPE, vehicles and plant

About you

- Bundaberg based or surrounds

- A proven Project Manager in commercial or industrial construction, with projects in the $5M to $40M range

- Strong at planning and programming

- A good working knowledge of contracts: variations, notices and records

- Commercially aware, and you deal with problems early

- Able to lead a small team and manage clients, consultants and trades

Qualifications and experience

- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering or similar (preferred), or equivalent site-led experience

- Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing

- Confident with programming software and project management platforms
