AO5/1 Superintendents Representative (Mackay)

Your new company
Our client is a Queensland Government organisation responsible for delivering and maintaining building and construction projects across the state. An chance has become available for an experienced Contract Administrator to join their Mackay team on a temporary contract through to 30 January 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Your new role
Based in Mackay, you will provide high-level contract administration and operational contract supervision across building and construction projects. You will work closely with contractors, clients and project teams to ensure contractual obligations are met and projects are delivered in accordance with relevant documentation, procedures and quality requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Administering construction and engineering contracts
- Undertaking regular site inspections and monitoring contractor performance
- Coordinating and participating in regular site meetings
- Issuing variation orders and assessing contractual claims
- Processing contractor Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Monitoring compliance with contract documentation
- Preparing defects lists and following up outstanding works
- Ensuring relevant Building Act compliance inspections are completed and appropriately recorded
- Assisting with contractual dispute resolution processes
- Implementing contract administration policies and procedures
- Monitoring post-contract contractor performance
- Communicating potential cost, time and quality issues to clients and project stakeholders




- Supporting quality assurance processes and continuous improvement
- Maintaining strong workplace health and safety standards

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience in contract administration within building, construction or engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of traditional and non-traditional construction contracts
- Experience administering government building contracts will be highly regarded
- Experience assessing variations, claims and contractor RFIs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate contractual documentation
- Excellent stakeholder and contractor communication skills
- The ability to confidently undertake site inspections and identify contractual or quality issues
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
