NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking experienced Concreters to join our team on a casual basis. Based in western qld, this role offers flexible work opportunities for skilled tradespeople looking to contribute to quality concrete projects across the region. As a Concreter, you will be responsible for preparing, pouring, finishing and maintaining concrete structures that form the foundation of residential, commercial and civil infrastructure projects.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing concrete surfaces and formwork to ensure correct specifications and safety standards
- Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete to the required thickness and consistency
- Finishing concrete surfaces using various techniques including trowelling, floating and brooming
- Operating concrete equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications and measurements to ensure accuracy
- Maintaining concrete quality throughout curing and hardening processes
- Ensuring work sites remain clean, safe and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and site supervisors to meet project deadlines
- Inspecting finished work for quality and undertaking any necessary remedial work
What we're looking for
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in concrete work or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Proven experience working as a Concreter in the building trades industry
- Strong knowledge of concrete handling, finishing techniques and industry best practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately
- Current and valid driver's licence
- Working knowledge of health and safety requirements on construction sites
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility and reliability for casual work arrangements
