I am seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a minimum of 5 years' experience to join its growing Sydney team, pricing a diverse portfolio of commercial & industrial electrical construction projects.

With electrical projects typically ranging from $5M to $15M, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Estimator who enjoys working on technically challenging projects, preparing competitive tenders and collaborating with experienced project delivery teams.

About You

- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Australian electrical construction industry is essential.
- Proven experience estimating commercial, industrial and residential electrical construction projects.
- Solid understanding of Design & Construct (D&C;) projects, tender documentation and electrical design requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed estimates using first-principles estimating methodologies.
- Experience pricing electrical construction packages, ideally on projects valued between $5M and $15M.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards, regulations and construction methodologies.
- Strong understanding of electrical services, including power, lighting, communications, security and associated infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications,



schedules and technical documentation.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in cost planning, supplier negotiations and value engineering.
- Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as ConEst, Simpro, Bluebeam or similar.
- Electrical trade background or relevant electrical engineering qualifications highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed electrical estimates and competitive tender submissions for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Estimate electrical construction packages typically valued between $5M and $15M.
- Undertake first-principles estimating, material take-offs, labour calculations and cost assessments.
- Review tender documentation, electrical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations and pricing comparisons.
- Work closely with Project Managers, engineers and senior management to develop competitive and commercially viable tenders.
- Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Participate in tender reviews, clarifications and post-tender negotiations.
- Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases and tender documentation.
- Assist with tender handovers to project delivery teams following successful project awards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction estimating, with proven experience across Design & Construct (D&C;) projects, first-principles estimating and tender submissions.
