Gladstone Accounting and Taxation is seeking a part-time or full-time Accountant to join our team in Gladstone, QLD. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to our growing accounting practice whilst maintaining flexibility in their work schedule. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality accounting and taxation services to our diverse client base, helping businesses and individuals achieve their financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and review financial statements and accounts in accordance with accounting standards
- Assist with taxation compliance and return preparation for corporate and individual clients
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records and general ledger accounts
- Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
- Provide support with payroll processing and superannuation obligations
- Offer advisory services to clients on accounting and tax matters
- Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial documentation and information
- Ensure compliance with relevant taxation and accounting regulations
- Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting procedures and best practices

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience working in an accounting or taxation environment, ideally within a skilled practice
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation legislation and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications




- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Solid numeracy skills and the ability to manage complex financial information
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity
