About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Casual Cook to join our kitchen team at the Entertainment Quarter. You will prepare, cook, and plate food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring fast and protected service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Food Preparation: Perform mise en place by chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients accurately before and during service.
- Cooking & Plating: Follow standard recipes to grill, bake, fry, or boil meals with consistent taste and presentation.
- Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain clean workstations, sanitize equipment, and store food safely in line with health regulations.
- Stock & Inventory: Monitor food stock levels, rotate inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out), and report shortages.




- Teamwork: Coordinate closely with chefs, kitchenhands, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.

What We Are Looking For

- Proven experience in a commercial kitchen or fast-paced food service role.
- Mandatory valid Food Handler Certificate for commercial food handling in Australia.
- Vocational training such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is highly regarded.
- Strong knife handling skills and knowledge of various cooking methods and safety standards.
- A sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task effectively within a go-getter team.
