sky blaze pty ltd Chai Parantha (Sky Blaze Pty Ltd) is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in Parramatta. This is a full-time position suited to a motivated individual with strong cooking skills, attention to detail and a genuine passion for food preparation and presentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to a consistent standard, maintaining food quality, managing food preparation efficiently and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements in a fast-paced kitchen.

Task & responsibilities

- Prepare, season and cook food items using appropriate cooking methods such as grilling, frying, baking and boiling
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes, portion control and presentation guidelines
- Monitor the quality of food at all stages of preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and high standards
- Assist with menu planning and the development of new dishes when required
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations at all times
- Store food correctly and maintain appropriate stock rotation procedures
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas,



equipment and utensils
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service
- Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff when required
- Carry out daily food preparation such as cutting, marinating and assembling ingredients prior to service
- Cook menu items during service periods in line with customer orders and business standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including grills, fryers, ovens and cooktops
- Coordinate cooking times to ensure meals are delivered promptly during peak trading hours
- Check food supplies and advise management of ordering requirements
- Ensure correct portioning to control costs and maintain consistency
- Identify and discard spoiled or substandard food items
- Follow cleaning schedules and end-of-shift kitchen shutdown procedures

Qualification & experience

- A relevant culinary qualification, such as a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant certification, is preferred
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a high-volume commercial kitchen
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Attention to detail and a genuine passion for food preparation and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Right to work in Australia
