Activate Perth’s Waterfront Destination

Be part of an exciting new chapter for the City of Perth in this newly created role, helping shape the future event operations and programming of the Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Square precinct. Ahead of the City assuming management of the precinct in July 2027, you will support the transition and lead the day-to-day coordination and activation of events, experiences and initiatives that attract visitors year-round.

As the precinct's primary Event Operations Officer, you'll work closely with event organisers, tenants and stakeholders to ensure activities are delivered safely, efficiently and successfully, from planning and delivery through to bump-out.

If you're passionate about events, stakeholder engagement and creating vibrant public spaces, this is a unique chance to make your mark on one of Perth's most iconic destinations.

Reporting to the Alliance Manager City Events, your responsibilities would primarily include:

- Deliver Events & Activations | Coordinate events and activations from planning through to delivery;
- Manage Precinct Operations | Ensure the precinct is safe, accessible and event-ready;
- Engage Stakeholders | Build strong relationships with organisers, tenants and partners; and
- Oversee Compliance & Performance | Manage risks, budgets, reporting and continuous improvement.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

- Experience coordinating events, activations or precinct operations;
- Strong knowledge of event operations, WHS, risk management and public safety;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills; and
- Proven ability to manage projects, budgets and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

If your experience and capabilities match these criteria, we welcome your application.

Above all, you will live our values of Commitment, Teamwork, Courage and Respect that allow us to come together to lead and support the community.

Please view the attached Application Pack to learn more about the role and working at the City.

Eligibility

To be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:

- A right to work in Australia (e.g. a birth certificate, current passport or current visa);
- A current ‘C’ class Australian drivers licence; and
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months).

Applications for this position will close at 5PM AWST on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 . Applications may be considered, and interviews conducted prior to, the closing date.

Applicants may also be considered for similar positions within the City of Perth.

We’re continuing to build a gender-equitable team and a culture that’s just as diverse, inclusive and welcoming as the City of Perth Community. We encourage applications from people of all ages, cultures (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples), abilities, sexual orientation and gender identities.

Canvassing of Elected Members during the recruitment process will disqualify your application.
