This is not your average employment consultant role. At Youth Projects, our Youth Coaches work alongside young people to identify and address the personal, social and practical barriers that can make it harder to engage in employment or education.
By recognising and responding to each young person’s strengths, goals and individual circumstances, we help open doors to meaningful opportunities and support young people to build a future on their own terms.
As a Youth Coach, you won’t just help young people aged 15–25 find work. You’ll empower them to develop real-world skills, confidence and independence. Using a strengths-based case management approach and working alongside our Outreach and wider Youth Services team, you’ll be a mentor, advocate and connector between young people and local employment, education and engagement opportunities through the Transition to Work program.
What you’ll bring:
- A Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Community Services, Career Development or a related discipline
- Experience delivering employment services and/or mentoring young people
- A current and valid driver’s licence
Does this sound like you?
- You have the ability to connect and build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds, with diverse experiences
- You understand strengths-based practice and are able to build upon each young person’s potential
- You are patient and persistent, maintaining engagement through setbacks and changing circumstances
- You balance empathy with professional boundaries and are comfortable having honest conversations
Then we want to hear from you!
