Rowanos Italian Restaurant – Croydon South VIC

Rowanos Restaurant is an established Italian restaurant known for quality food, exceptional customer service and a welcoming dining experience. We are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead our Croydon South team and oversee daily operations. The Croydon South venue is a large, busy restaurant featuring multiple dining areas, two bars, private function facilities and seating for approximately 160 guests.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Lead, train, motivate and supervise front-of-house staff
- Prepare staff rosters, manage labour costs and maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints
- Oversee reservations, large group bookings, private functions and special events
- Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain food quality, presentation and service efficiency
- Monitor restaurant sales, revenue targets, operating expenses and profitabilityManage beverage stock, ordering, inventory control and supplier relationships
- Implement strategies to increase sales, encourage upselling and improve customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, RSA and workplace health and safety requirements

About you





- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar leadership position
- Previous experience managing a busy, high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Sound understanding of restaurant financial performance, labour costs and stock management
- Experience managing functions, group bookings and special events
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining excellent service standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on management approach
- Experience with POS systems, reservation platforms and staff rostering software
- Current Victorian RSA certificate
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
