The Company is seeking a Head of Credit for Commercial Credit. This senior role is pivotal in the decision-making process, requiring the application of commercial property expertise to a range of transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end assessment and decisioning of complex commercial property lending transactions, structuring and approving higher-value deals, and assessing borrower structures, serviceability, security, and overall credit risk. The role also involves working closely with brokers and the sales team, acting as a senior escalation point, and providing input into commercial credit policy and risk settings. The Head of Credit will have a significant influence on the development of the function and will be expected to remain hands-on, with a focus on both strategic and operational aspects.
Applicants for the Head of Credit position should have a minimum of 7-10 years' commercial credit experience, with a strong background in commercial property lending. The role requires a candidate with proven delegated lending authority, experience in complex borrower structures, and exposure to larger commercial property transactions. A pragmatic and commercially minded approach is essential, particularly in a fast-moving lending environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at making independent credit decisions and be prepared to take on a leadership role in shaping the commercial credit function within the company. While not essential, construction lending experience is a valuable asset as the business expands its commercial lending capabilities.
