Our Economist Talent Acquisition team is looking for a Senior Economist to join our organisation, a leading multinational organisation providing financial and strategic support to businesses. You will be responsible for analysing how best to finance the 2023 acquisition of a synthetic polymer company (2023 Q4) and the Amarco bank technology partnership. Employment at a senior level includes a corporation or non‑profit organisation, and you will report to the Chief Economist.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain financial forecasting models for acquisition transactions.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to determine the capital structure for an acquisition programme.
- Communicate assumptions and findings to senior leadership in both written and oral formats.
- Conduct scenario analysis on potential acquisition targets.
- Support due diligence for acquisitions and rationalises financing options for debt and equity funding.
- Assist in evaluating the financial impact of recent technologies in the company’s pipeline.
- Ensure that acquisitions and financing activities are in line with company strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in senior economics or finance roles.
- Experience leading financial model building using Excel and regression analyses.
- Strong deliverable and communication skills, including compiling & presenting financial information.
- Knowledge of M&A;, leveraged finance, and private equity financing.
- Working knowledge of Python, R or SQL is a plus.
- Native or full‑time English language requirement.

Location & Working Hours

Full‑time, permanent, 40 hours per week. Hybrid working model available for the role. Offices located in Sydney, Australia.
