Purpose

The Facilities Manager is responsible for leading the operational performance, maintenance, compliance, and long-term asset strategy of a portfolio of purpose-built student accommodation communities. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, this role provides leadership across building operations, contractor management, capital works, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused environments from pre-opening through ongoing operations while supporting exceptional resident experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

- Lead building operations, essential services, and maintenance strategies across a multi-property accommodation portfolio.
- Manage contractors, suppliers, and service agreements to optimise performance, compliance, and value.
- Drive WHS, risk management, emergency preparedness, and building regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Oversee maintenance budgets, capital works projects,



and long-term asset lifecycle planning.
- Foster solid stakeholder relationships while delivering exceptional resident and customer experiences.

Skills and Experience

- Significant facilities management experience within residential, hospitality, property, accommodation, or related sectors.
- Strong technical expertise across HVAC, fire safety, electrical, security, plumbing, and building systems.
- Demonstrated success managing contractors, maintenance programmes, compliance obligations, and service delivery standards.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management frameworks, and statutory building requirements.
- Exceptional communication, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities with a hands-on approach.
