We are seeking an educator in our family home in Parkdale Victoria for our children, a girl (2.5 years old) and baby boy (8 months old) for 2-3 days per week initially, with scope to increase. We require care for a full day Monday and are open to any other days/times. Both parents typically work from home.

About the kids: Our 2.5 year old has complex epilepsy that comes along with seizures (well controlled), developmental delay, movement issues and neurological difference (possibly autism traits). she has the developmental age of around a 10-12 month old and is not yet walking or speaking but she continues to progress towards these milestones. She is giggly, quirky, busy, easy-going and a little bit shy initially but loves silly games, music and sens ory play.

You will be a valued part of her learning and development journey and we will lean on your educational experience and knowledge to engage her and help her learn.

Baby boy is a smiley, social little dude who’s fairly easy to please with attention, play and chats. He operates to a fairly consistent routine.

About you:

We are looking for someone:





With a minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and ideally experience in childcare settings (bonus points for additional needs experience)

With a WWCC, first aid/ CPR and police check

Who is physically able to lift a toddler in and out of her pram, cot, high chair etc (approx 15 kgs)

Comfortable with being responsible if an emergency arises and will participate in training in emergency epilepsy management

- Willing to be silly and bring enthusiasm and creativity to playtime, follow the kids’ lead and notice their cues The successful applicant will be employed part time by Steps and Strides, who are our service provider for the In Home Care funding stream. They pay well above award rates ($40+ per hour dependent on quals and years of experience).
