As our Norseman Gold Project continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and capable Alternate Underground Manager to join our underground leadership team and support the continued development and performance of our operations.

About the role

As Alternate Underground Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the safe, efficient and effective delivery of our underground mining operations. Working closely with the Underground Manager, you will help drive operational performance, maintain strong technical and safety standards, and provide leadership and oversight across our underground mining activities. You will also have the opportunity to step into the Underground Manager's responsibilities during periods of absence, further developing your operational leadership experience and statutory management capability, where appropriately authorised.

This role offers the ideal balance of hands-on operational involvement, technical oversight and leadership development within a growing gold mining operation.

Key responsibilities





- Support the Underground Manager in the safe and effective management of underground mining operations.
- Undertake delegated statutory responsibilities and provide management coverage in accordance with relevant legislation, qualifications and site requirements.
- Work closely with underground mining contractors to drive performance against agreed safety, production, development and cost targets.
- Monitor operational performance, identify challenges and contribute to practical solutions that improve productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Technical Services and operational teams to ensure mine plans and schedules are practical, achievable and aligned with operational requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on ground control, ventilation, mine design, development, production and critical risk management.
- Support contractor performance management, including monitoring KPIs, addressing performance gaps and promoting accountability.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation and more effective mining practices.
- Participate in operational planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reviews.
- Provide visible leadership in the field, promoting a positive safety culture and robust operational discipline.

- About you

- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in underground hard rock mining operations, preferably within gold.
- Experience in a Senior Mining Engineer,



Alternate Underground Manager or similar senior technical or operational position.
- A First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency, or demonstrated progress towards obtaining this qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge of underground mining practices, including development, production, ground control, ventilation and mine planning.
- Previous experience working with underground mining contractors and an understanding of contractor performance management.
- Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of the key drivers of operational productivity and cost performance.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A genuine commitment to safety, teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
