Our Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) Help Desk team, part of the Biodiversity Offsets and Planning Branch, is currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Project Officer to support the consistent, efficient and accurate delivery of our enquiry management services. The Help Desk responds to enquiries about the BOS and the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM), most commonly from accredited assessors, as well as local government, developers, landholders and the community.
Working closely with senior staff, you will support the triage, allocation and tracking of enquiries, prepare draft responses and internal briefings, and help maintain our response templates, guidelines and knowledge base articles. You will also analyse enquiries to report on issues and trends, coordinate Help Desk administration such as shared inboxes and stakeholder contact lists, help source and confirm responses with subject matter experts across the department, and contribute to improving our systems and processes. This is an opportunity to build a strong working knowledge of biodiversity assessment and offsetting policy while working with a collaborative and geographically dispersed team.
