Graduate Investment Banking Analyst – January 2027

About Neu Capital

Neu Capital specialises in designing and executing funding solutions for complex and non-vanilla corporate finance scenarios.

Our clients include Australian, New Zealand, UK and European companies seeking institutional debt and M&A; advisory services. Our global network of institutional investor relationships spans several hundred banks, credit funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, pension funds and family offices.

We have particular expertise across securitisation, structured debt, special situations and corporate finance for public and private mid-market companies.

Technology, including AI, is increasingly embedded in how we work. We expect our team to be curious about new technology, comfortable using AI tools and proactive in identifying ways they can improve the quality and efficiency of our work.

We are looking for final-year students and recent graduates to join our January 2027 Graduate Investment Banking Analyst intake.

As a Graduate Analyst, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to live transactions from day one, while developing strong technical, commercial and client-facing skills.

The Role

As a Graduate Analyst, you will:

- Work directly with Managing Directors and alongside analysts and associates on a range of mid-market transactions across special situations, corporate debt, acquisition finance and structured finance.
- Assist with both the origination of new mandates and execution of live transactions, including preparing deal pitches and transaction materials such as Credit Papers, Information Memorandums and Financial Models.
- Build and analyse three-way financial models, with a particular focus on debt sizing, LBO, cash flow and downside modelling.
- Undertake analysis for structured finance transactions, including stratification and analysis of loan tapes.
- Support the preparation of origination materials, market research, industry analysis and listed company analysis.
- Use AI and other technology tools to support research, analysis, workflow efficiency and the preparation of high-quality work, while applying appropriate judgement and review.

- Develop a strong understanding of transaction and capital structuring through detailed, end-to-end involvement in live deals.
- Build strong client relationship skills through regular interaction with clients and institutional investors.

The responsibilities above are not exhaustive. Our lean deal teams and flat organisational structure mean Graduate Analysts are encouraged to contribute meaningfully and take on responsibility early. The breadth of the role will grow with your capability, initiative and willingness to take ownership.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney CBD, close to Martin Place and Wynyard stations.

About You

We are looking for candidates who:

- Are excited about building a career in investment banking and corporate finance.
- Are completing, or have recently completed, a Commerce, Finance, Economics or other relevant degree.
- Have strong analytical skills and enjoy solving complex problems.
- Are keen to develop advanced financial modelling skills.
- Have an interest in institutional debt, structured finance and capital markets
- Are comfortable using AI tools and interested in finding practical ways to use AI to work more effectively.
- Are curious about emerging technology and how it is changing financial markets and professional services.
- Are commercially curious and keep up to date with domestic and global capital markets.
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality work.
- Are proactive, motivated and comfortable taking responsibility.
- Exercise good judgement and understand the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and appropriate review when using technology and AI.
- Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Are final-year students or recent graduates available to commence in January 2027.

We don't expect graduates to arrive knowing everything. We are looking for people who learn quickly,

ask good questions, embrace new technology and are motivated to develop their technical and commercial skills. Why Join Us?

- Meaningful deal experience from day one – work on complex, institutional-quality transactions rather than sitting on the sidelines.
- Direct exposure to senior team members – work closely with Managing Directors, clients and investors from the beginning of your career.
- Accelerated learning – our lean deal teams provide exposure to transactions from origination through to execution and completion.
- Technology-forward setting – work in a team that actively embraces AI and new technology to improve how we analyse, execute and communicate.
- Early responsibility – high performers are given the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as quickly as their capabilities allow.
- Career progression – as a growing business, there are significant opportunities to develop and progress within the firm.
- Collaborative culture – work as part of an ambitious, hard-working and supportive team.
- Competitive remuneration – competitive salary with uncapped bonus potential.
- Team culture – regular social events, celebrations and opportunities to connect outside of transactions.
