The Role





We are seeking an experienced Oracle Technical Architect to assess and stabilise a business-critical case management platform.

Combining technical advisory work with hands-on investigation, you will review the existing Oracle environment and monitoring, identify the causes of recurring stability issues and recommend practical improvements. You will also establish a separate proof-of-concept environment to validate remediation and upgrade options.

This is an initial one-month contract with potential extension, based in Melbourne, with regular on-site engagement required.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess the Oracle Forms, Reports and Database environment, including application dependencies and integrations
- Review Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), monitoring coverage and alerting to improve visibility of system health
- Investigate stability and performance issues across application, database and infrastructure layers, and implement agreed remediation
- Establish an isolated proof-of-concept environment to test fixes and Oracle upgrade pathways
- Assess PL/SQL code and legacy application dependencies to identify risks affecting stability and upgrades
- Develop clear recommendations for ongoing support, monitoring and longer-term modernisation
- Work closely with the client's DBA, business stakeholders and program team, documenting findings and transferring knowledge

About You





- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Forms and Reports, including legacy Forms 6-era applications
- Deep Oracle Database administration and troubleshooting expertise, including older environments such as Oracle 9i and 11
- Advanced PL/SQL skills across packages, procedures, functions and triggers
- Proven root-cause analysis experience across business-critical production systems
- Experience reviewing and improving Oracle Enterprise Manager monitoring and alerting
- Experience planning Oracle upgrades or migrations and validating changes in non-production environments
- An understanding of application dependencies, stored-procedure interfaces and middleware integrations
- Clear communication skills and confidence working independently with technical and business stakeholders
