Are you an SAP payroll professional ready for a role where your expertise really counts? This is your chance to join a large, well-respected organisation as Payroll Supervisor. You’ll be hands-on in the detail, guiding a small team of Payroll Officers and taking ownership of a complex, high-profile payroll.
You’ll be the go-to person for the tricky stuff: the final reviewer on redundancies, terminations, back pays and anything out of the ordinary. You’ll also coach and develop the team around you and help shape a payroll function that’s evolving and improving. It’s a supportive, people-focused environment where accuracy, wellbeing and continuous improvement are genuinely valued, not just talked about.
Add an above salary package and 3 days a week working from home, and this is a role you won’t want to miss!
Excellent Bens:
- $150K–$170K base + Super (Negotiable)
- Hybrid working: 2 days in the office, 3 from home
- Genuine career development and learning opportunities
- Sydney CBD location, close to public transport
- Large, reliable organisation with a strong focus on safety, wellbeing and leadership development
- Clear pathway in a payroll function going through transformation
Nuts & Bolts:
- Permanent, full-time role supervising a medium sized team of Payroll Officers, reporting to the Payroll Manager
- End-to-end payroll across multiple Enterprise Agreements and Awards
- Final review and sign-off of the pay run, including complex calculations: redundancies, terminations, back pays and non-standard payments
- Reconciliations, exception reporting and month-end processes
- Payroll tax returns, workers’ compensation submissions and superannuation reconciliations
- Key calendar events: EOFY, remuneration review and EA renewals
- Keeping checklists, process maps and work instructions up to date
- Supporting internal and external audits and internal controls
- Coaching the team, supporting performance and building capability
- Driving process improvement and automation
About You:
- SAP payroll experience is essential. Can be current or in a previous role
- 5+ years as a Payroll Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager in an equivalent in a medium to large organisation
- Proven experience interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements in payroll
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax and compliance
- A hands-on, solutions-focused leader who enjoys coaching others
- Calm under pressure, highly organised and accurate with numbers
- Strong Excel skills; advanced Excel is highly regarded
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or business, or equivalent experience
