We are seeking a Principal Transmission Lines Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background to provide technical expertise across high-voltage transmission line projects.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support the delivery of secure, reliable and technically sound transmission line solutions, from detailed design through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist technical expertise in electrical transmission line engineering, coordinating design activities and advising project teams on engineering solutions
- Undertake and review electrical transmission line designs, calculations, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Verify and approve engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, client requirements and project specifications.
- Coordinate electrical design activities with other engineering disciplines, resolving technical issues and maintaining project requirements.
- Prepare and respond to technical queries, review vendor documentation and ensure appropriate engineering methods and procedures are followed.
- Participate in design and construction reviews, ensuring technical changes and site modifications are accurately reflected in as-built documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve electrical design processes,
engineering methods and overall design quality.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering team members and support the consistent application of engineering standards and best practices.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the utilities, construction or resources industry, specifically in electrical transmission line engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical transmission line design, engineering calculations, technical documentation and design verification.
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian and international electrical engineering standards and transmission line design requirements.
- Ability to review engineering deliverables, identify technical issues and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of technical accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage competing priorities and project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and client locations as required.
- Current C-Class WA driver's licence.
