DWS is seeking a Senior Datacom DBA Consultant to support a major transformation program requiring specialist Broadcom Datacom expertise. This role will provide hands-on DBA support across development, testing, implementation preparation and workplace management activities, while ensuring continuity of support and reducing reliance on a single specialist resource.

Salary: Up to $1,250/day ACN; Max Term by negotiation

Role Requirements

- Provide effective backup coverage and specialist support for Datacom DBA activities.
- Administer and maintain Broadcom Datacom databases across non-production environments.
- Build, configure, refresh and reset Datacom databases and associated environments.
- Diagnose and resolve database faults, data-access issues, integrity concerns, performance bottlenecks and environmental problems.
- Support development and testing teams with database availability, data preparation, troubleshooting and technical analysis.
- Perform database installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades and patching activities.
- Monitor and tune Datacom databases to maintain reliability and performance.
- Support backup, recovery, restore and integrity-validation activities.
- Investigate complex issues involving application access, database processing and batch operations.
- Support testing cycles, implementation rehearsals, migration activities and production readiness preparations.
- Maintain DBA procedures, operational documentation and configuration records.
- Share knowledge and maintain visibility of database activities to ensure continuity of service.
- Demonstrate substantial hands-on experience administering, supporting and tuning Broadcom Datacom databases.
- Recent experience working as a Datacom DBA within complex IBM mainframe environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across performance, integrity,



environmental and operational issues.
- Strong understanding of Datacom database structures, utilities, backup/recovery processes and operational procedures.
- Experience supporting application development, integration testing, system testing and implementation activities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with developers, testers, infrastructure teams and support specialists.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Experience

- Experience supporting Datacom applications within banking, insurance or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience contributing to migration, remediation or database decommissioning initiatives.
- Experience supporting data extraction, transformation, reconciliation and migration activities.
- Familiarity with mainframe scheduling, batch-processing and performance-monitoring toolsets.
