About the business My client is a fast-growing funds management business that partners with Australian and offshore investment managers to launch, operate and distribute funds in the Australian market. They’re one of the most active businesses in the country when it comes to setting up new funds, and with significant growth ahead, the legal team is expanding.
The role Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you’ll lead legal matters across the full lifecycle of the group’s investment products, including:
Product development, establishment and launch
Ongoing operation, amendments, restructures and terminations
Disclosure documents, fund constitutions and trust deeds
Regulatory change and its impact on products and processes
Instructing and managing external counsel on significant matters
Supporting broader corporate, commercial and governance projects
You’ll also manage and mentor a Legal Counsel, who is being recruited alongside this role.
About you
8+ years’ PAE, with significant funds management experience
Strong, hands-on product experience, including fund establishment, disclosure and fund documentation
Confident advising senior stakeholders and working with a high degree of autonomy
Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable balancing legal risk with business objectives
