Fixed-Term Contract (3-6 months) | Melbourne or Sydney Immediate Start Available Enemix is partnering with one of Australia's leading renewable energy developers to find an experienced construction lawyer for a short-medium term, high-impact contract. They have a strong pipeline of large-scale wind, solar and bess projects across multiple states, with some already under construction and others moving from procurement into build. That makes it the right moment to step inside a developer and see projects go from paper to steel in the ground.
The opportunity You’ll join a sharp, collaborative legal team made up of lawyers from top-tier and international firms and leading in-house renewables teams. You’ll report to the General Counsel and work right at the front end of construction.
The developer uses a split contracting model, with turbine supply and install separate from balance of plant, rather than a single EPC. That means more varied and engaging contracting work than a standard EPC role, and real exposure to how large-scale renewables actually get delivered.
What you’ll be doing
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating procurement contracts for upcoming projects
Providing hands-on legal support across projects currently under construction
Managing the contractual interfaces between the turbine and balance of plant packages
What you’ll bring
8-20 years PQE with strong, hands-on front-end construction contract experience
Renewables or broader energy sector experience is a bonus, but not essential. In-house experience is not required.
Why this role
Work on real renewable energy projects at a pivotal stage of delivery
Join a high-calibre team with a genuinely great culture
Gain exposure to a split contracting model that most private practice lawyers rarely see from the inside
Flexibility to be based in Melbourne or Sydney
A short, sharp engagement that is ideal between moves, or as a first taste of in-house life
