We’re looking for a reliable, organised Packing & Labelling Team Leader to join our Morningside team. This is a hands-on role combining packing, printing and checking product labels, coordinating a small team, and assisting with phone calls and invoicing.

About the role

You’ll organise the daily work of our packing and labelling team while actively working alongside them.

Printing accurate product labels is a key part of this role. You’ll use our computer systems and label printers to prepare labels for different products and pack sizes, checking that product information, weights, batch details and dates are correct before labels are used.

You’ll also help with general office tasks, including answering phone calls and preparing customer invoices when required.

Your duties will include:

- Coordinating daily packing and labelling tasks according to priorities agreed with the manager




- Allocating work and following up on progress to keep orders on track
- Preparing and printing product labels using our labelling software and printers
- Checking label details carefully, including product names, pack sizes, batch numbers and date information
- Ensuring the correct labels are supplied to the team for each packing job
- Keeping label files and printed labels organised, and reporting errors or printing issues
- Working alongside the team to weigh, pack, seal and label products
- Checking finished products for correct weights, labels and presentation
- Training and supporting team members in packing, labelling and hygiene procedures
- Checking stock accuracy and reporting shortages or discrepancies
- Completing packing, batch and quality records accurately
- Helping answer incoming phone calls, taking accurate messages and directing enquiries to the appropriate person
- Assisting with preparing customer invoices and routine administrative tasks
- Keeping work areas clean and organised
- Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Communicating with the manager, warehouse and machine operators about stock, priorities and production progress

About you

You’ll be a practical, approachable team leader who is comfortable working both on the packing floor and at a computer.

We’re looking for someone with:





- Previous experience in packing, labelling or food production
- Experience leading a small team or training colleagues
- Confidence using computers, entering information accurately and printing labels
- Excellent attention to detail when checking product information, labels and quantities
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise daily tasks
- Clear communication skills and a friendly, professional phone manner
- Confidence assisting with invoicing and basic administration, with training provided on our systems
- The ability to follow instructions and complete records accurately
- A strong commitment to cleanliness, food safety and safe working practices
- Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to take responsibility
- The ability to carry out physical work and manual handling safely

Experience with label printing software or MYOB is highly regarded. Experienced packing or production staff ready to take the next step are also encouraged to apply.

Working hours and breaks

- Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- 15-minute paid morning break
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Pay: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
