Casual Disability Support Worker – North Sydney

Location: North Sydney
Pay: From $45.28 per hour
Hours: Regular weekly shifts (days and times to be discussed)

Supporting Needs is looking for a friendly, reliable and engaging female Support Worker to support a 16 year old female participant in North Sydney.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building meaningful connections, developing trust and helping a young person explore the world around them. The focus is on building a positive, consistent support worker relationship, encouraging independence, discovering new interests and supporting her to experience new activities and environments at her own pace.

About the role

You will support the participant to:

- Build a genuine and trusting relationship with her support worker
- Explore new places, activities and experiences
- Develop confidence, independence and everyday life skills
- Discover current interests and learn more about the world around her
- Participate in community activities and social experiences
- Feel comfortable, respected and supported in her own way

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

- Warm, patient, approachable and genuinely interested in connecting with young people
- A good communicator who can build rapport naturally without forcing interactions
- Proactive,



open minded and willing to explore current activities together
- Reliable and interested in providing consistent, ongoing support
- Respectful of the participant’s individuality, interests and pace

Female applicants with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting young people are encouraged to apply. University students studying Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Nursing or related fields are particularly welcome.

Previous disability support experience is preferred, but we also value the right personality, attitude and willingness to learn.

- Working With Children Check
- First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Full working rights in Australia
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle preferred
