Job Description

Lu Mare is seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to join our team in Wollongong.

This is a full-time prospect for a skilled hospitality professional with strong restaurant management experience who can oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, lead our front-of-house team, and ensure consistently high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant;
- supervising, coordinating and supporting front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service;
- recruiting, training and mentoring restaurant staff;
- preparing staff rosters and managing daily staffing requirements;
- maintaining high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction;
- handling customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally;
- coordinating with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth food and beverage service;
- monitoring restaurant performance, operational costs and profitability;
- managing stock levels, ordering supplies and liaising with suppliers;
- overseeing cash handling, POS systems and daily financial transactions;
- assisting with budgeting, cost control and revenue management;
- ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations;




- maintaining cleanliness, presentation and operational standards throughout the restaurant;
- organising and coordinating reservations, functions and special events; and
- implementing procedures to improve service quality and operational efficiency.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must have:

- A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager or in a comparable restaurant management role;
- strong leadership and staff management skills;
- demonstrated experience managing daily restaurant operations in a busy hospitality environment;
- excellent customer service and communication skills;
- sound knowledge of restaurant operations, food and beverage service, and hospitality industry standards;
- experience in staff rostering, training and performance management;
- solid organisational, problem-solving and time-management skills;
- an understanding of stock control, budgeting and cost management;
- knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements;
- the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities; and
- a genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Salary and Employment Conditions

This is a full-time position based at Lu Mare, 3/9 Wilson Street, Wollongong NSW 2500.

Annual salary: From AU$79,000 ~ AU$80,000 per year + 12% superannuation.
