THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy retail store.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the retail team, managing stock levels and inventory, coordinating supplier deliveries, maintaining merchandising standards, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving the overall commercial performance of the business.

This position requires a hands-on retail professional who can effectively manage staff, inventory, sales performance and operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store to ensure effective and profitable business performance.

● Supervise, train and support retail staff to maintain high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

● Recruit, roster and monitor staff performance.

● Ensure fresh produce and grocery displays are well presented, fully stocked and rotated appropriately.

● Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing, ordering and supplier deliveries to maintain product availability.

● Minimise stock losses through effective inventory control, stock rotation and waste management.

● Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction.

● Handle customer enquiries,



feedback and complaints professionally.

● Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and company policies.

● Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) operations, daily reconciliations and store reporting.

● Coordinate promotional activities, seasonal displays and merchandising initiatives.

● Maintain store presentation, cleanliness and operational standards at all times.

● Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products and negotiate purchasing requirements where appropriate.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

● At least three (3) years of experience managing a supermarket, fresh produce market, grocery store or other retail business.

● A Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Accounting, Commerce or a closely related discipline (AQF equivalent or higher).

● Strong leadership and people management skills.

● Experience in inventory management, purchasing and supplier coordination.

● Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service.

● Experience managing budgets, sales performance and store profitability.

● Excellent organisational and communication skills.

● Competency in POS systems, Microsoft Office and general retail software.

● Availability to work full-time, including weekends and public holidays where required.
